- Sweet onions sliced into 1/4-in. rings = 2½ lbs. (about 3 large onions)
- Dried thyme = 1 tsp.
- Dried parsley flakes = 1 tsp.
- Garlic salt = 1 tsp.
- Dried oregano = 1/2 tsp.
- Dry mustard = 1/2 tsp.
- Cayenne pepper = 1/4 tsp.
- Salted butter cut into 1/4-in. pieces = 1/4 cup
- Mild Cheddar cheese shredded = 4 oz. (about 1 cup)
- Smoked Gouda cheese shredded = 4 oz. (about 1 cup)
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Coat a baking dish.

Place onion rings in a large bowl.

Sprinkle thyme, parsley, garlic salt, oregano, mustard, and cayenne.
