Equipment

  • Large Straight-Sided Skillet
  • Measuring Cups
  • Tongs
  • Sharp knife
  • Cutting Board

Ingredients

  • 12 oz LINGUINE
  • 12 oz CHERRY TOMATOES
  • 1 medium RED ONION
  • 4 cloves GARLIC
  • 1/2 tsp RED PEPPER FLAKES
  • 2 sprigs FRESH BASIL
  • 2 tbsp EXTRA-VIRGIN OLIVE OIL
  • 2 tsp KOSHER SALT
  • 1/2 tsp BLACK PEPPER
  • 4 1/2 cups WATER
  • 1/4 cup PARMESAN CHEESE

Instructions

  • Place the dry linguine into your large skillet. Add the tomatoes, onions, and garlic on top.
  • Pour the water over all the dry ingredients. Add the oil, salt, pepper, and red flakes.
  • Turn the stove to high heat right now. Bring the liquid to a very fast boil.
  • Stir the pasta constantly with your tongs. Keep the noodles submerged in the boiling water.
  • Cook for about nine minutes until liquid evaporates. The pasta should be tender and the sauce thick.

Notes

  • Use a large skillet so the pasta lays flat.
  • Slice the onions and garlic very thin for texture.
  • Do not leave the stove while the pasta cooks.
  • Stir the pasta often to prevent any sticking.
  • Use fresh basil only at the very end.
  • Taste the sauce before serving to check the salt.
  • Make sure the water is exactly the right amount.
