Equipment

  • Mixing Bowl
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Whisk
  • Pie dish
  • Oven

Ingredients

  • Milk: 1 cup
  • Butter: 2 tablespoons
  • Almond Extract: ¼ teaspoon optional
  • Eggs: 2
  • Bisquick baking mix: ½ cup
  • Sugar: ¼ cup
  • 21-ounce can cherry pie filling: 1
  • Firm margarine: 2 tablespoons
  • Bisquick baking mix: ½ cup for streusel topping
  • Packed brown sugar: ½ cup
  • Ground cinnamon: ½ teaspoon

Instructions

  • First of all, turn on your oven and preheat it to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (204 degrees Celsius).
  • Second, Apply a thin layer of butter to your 10-inch pie plate. This process will save the pie from sticking and is easy to remove after baking.
  • Add all the ingredients in a mixing bowl, excluding pie filling and streusel. These ingredients include Milk, Butter, Egg, Bisquick baking mix, Sugar, and optionally, almond extract.
  • Use a blender or hand mixer to mix all these ingredients, if you are using a blender then use it on high speed for 15 sec or if you are using a hand mixer then use it for 1 minute. Beast all these ingredients until they are well combined.
  • Carefully transfer all these ingredients that you have mixed into the greased 10-inch pie plate.
  • Add cherry pie to the top of the poured batter with a spoon and distribute the cherries evenly so you have a nice layer of fruit throughout the pie.
  • Add the pie with the filling to the preheated 400 degrees Fahrenheit oven and bake it for 25 minutes, the initial baking allows the batter to partially cook.
  • Take a separate bowl, use a pastry cutter or you can also use your fingers to cut the cold butter into the Bisquick mix, brown sugar, and cinnamon. This streusel topping will add texture and sweetness to the pie.
  • After the first 25 minutes of baking, take the pie out of the oven and carefully sprinkle the crumbly streusel topping over the cherry filling.
  • Place the pie again in the oven and bake it for more than 10 minutes until the streusel to become golden brown.
  • Once the baking process is complete, take the pie out of the oven and place it outside to make it cool. Once it becomes cool serve it to your family and guests.
