Ingredients
  

  • 2 pounds ground beef
  • 1 cup plain dry breadcrumbs
  • 1 large onion finely chopped
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 packet Golden Corral meatloaf seasoning or homemade seasoning mix
  • 1/2 cup ketchup for the glaze
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar for the glaze
  • 1 tablespoon mustard for the glaze

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, beaten eggs, milk, and seasoning mix.
  • Mix well until all ingredients are thoroughly combined.
  • Transfer the meat mixture into a loaf pan and shape it into a loaf.
  • Place the loaf pan on a baking sheet to catch any drippings.
  • In a small bowl, mix together ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard for the glaze.
  • Spread the glaze evenly over the top of the meatloaf.
  • Cover the meatloaf with aluminum foil and bake for 1 hour.
  • Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes to brown the top.
  • Let the meatloaf rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  1. Use a mix of ground beef and ground pork for a richer flavor.
  2. Soak the breadcrumbs in milk for a few minutes before mixing to keep the meatloaf moist.
  3. Add finely chopped vegetables like bell peppers and celery for extra flavor and texture.
  4. Brush the top with additional glaze halfway through baking for a deeper flavor.
  5. Let the meatloaf rest after baking to ensure it slices neatly and retains its juices.
