Ingredients
  

  • 12 oz ziti pasta
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg beaten
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Marinara sauce for dipping

Instructions
 

  • Cook ziti as directed on the package.
  • Drain and let cool.
  • Mix ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, egg, and spices in a bowl.
  • Put the cheese mixture in a piping bag.
  • Pipe the cheese into each ziti piece.
  • Coat stuffed ziti in flour, then beaten eggs.
  • Roll ziti in breadcrumbs until coated.
  • Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  • Fry ziti until golden brown.
  • Drain on paper towels.
  • Serve hot with marinara sauce.

Notes

  1. Use whole milk ricotta for richer taste.
  2. Make sure the oil is hot before frying.
  3. Don’t overfill the ziti to prevent leaks.
  4. A deep fryer helps cook evenly.
  5. Serve right away for best crispiness.
