Ingredients

  • Fresh or frozen cherries: 2 cups
  • Granulated sugar: ½ cup
  • Water: ¼ cup
  • Lemon juice: 1 tbsp
  • Vanilla extract: 1 tsp
  • Salt: A pinch
  • Pre-baked pie crust: 1 cup

Instructions

Step 1

  • So what are you using for making this sorbet? Fresh cherries or frozen ones? Depending on your choice of cherries, your first step will change.
  • For fresh cherries, wash them and do the pitting. For frozen ones, just thaw them, and make sure they are pitted.

Step 2

  • Get your pie crust to the oven and pre-bake it just like the manufacturer has told you.
  • Cool it down and crush it into bite-sized pieces.

Step 3

  • In your food processor or blender, add the cherries, and all other ingredients except the pie crust. Blend on a high to get a smooth mixture, with a harmony among the ingredients.

Step 4

  • At this point, you need to taste the cherry mixture and adjust its flavor to make it pleasant for the taste buds.
  • In case you add more ingredients, just give a quick re-spin to blend it all.

Step 5

  • Get your Ninja Creami pint ready and fill it with the mixture.
  • Place in the freezer for 24 hours.

Step 6

  • After freezing, place the pint container on Ninja Creami and process the frozen mixture.
  • When halfway through the process, add the crushed pie crust and process again.
  • If you want, you can bake and crush the crust afresh, after the 24 hours of freezing period is over.
  • Ninja Creami Cherry Pie Sorbet is ready. Bon Appetit!
