A classic and easy roasted turkey breast recipe by Martha Stewart. It features a rich herb butter rub and crispy golden skin. Perfect for small holiday gatherings or a simple Sunday dinner.
Preheat your oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit. Set the rack to the middle position.
Pat the turkey breast completely dry using paper towels to ensure crispy skin.
In a small bowl, mix softened butter, sage, rosemary, thyme, salt, pepper, and garlic.
Carefully loosen the skin from the meat and rub half the butter mixture underneath.
Spread the remaining herb butter evenly over the outside of the turkey skin.
Place the turkey breast in a roasting pan and roast for about 2 hours.
Remove from oven when the internal temperature reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
Let the turkey rest for 15 minutes before carving to keep it juicy.
Notes
Always use a meat thermometer for the best results. Resting the meat is a crucial step for moisture retention. If the skin browns too quickly, tent it loosely with foil.
