Ingredients

  • 6 large PEACHES
  • 1 tbsp LEMON JUICE
  • 1 cup ALL-PURPOSE FLOUR
  • 1/2 cup SUGAR
  • 1/2 tsp CINNAMON
  • 1/2 cup UNSALTED BUTTER
  • 1 pinch SALT

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 375 degrees. Butter your baking dish so nothing sticks. This makes cleaning up much easier later.
  • Peel and slice your fresh peaches into wedges. Put them in the large bowl now. Add a little sugar and lemon juice.
  • Toss the peaches gently with a large spoon. Let them sit for a few minutes. This helps the juices start to come out.
  • Mix flour, sugar, and cinnamon in a bowl. Add the cold butter cubes to the mix. Use your fingers to make small crumbs.
  • Pour the peach mix into the baking dish. Spread them out into a flat, even layer. Make sure the dish is mostly full.
  • Sprinkle the buttery crumbs over the top. Cover all the peaches with the flour mix. Do not press the topping down hard.
  • Place the dish in the hot oven. Bake it for about forty-five minutes. The top should look very golden brown.

Notes

  • Use cold butter for a very flaky crumble top.
  • Choose ripe peaches that feel slightly soft to touch.
  • Slice peaches into even sizes for better even cooking.
  • Add a splash of vanilla for a deeper flavor.
  • Let the crumble rest for ten minutes before serving.
