  • 1/2 tsp SALT
  • 3/4 cup UNSALTED BUTTER
  • 1/2 cup GRANULATED SUGAR
  • 1 cup BROWN SUGAR
  • 1 tbsp VANILLA EXTRACT
  • 2 large EGGS
  • 2 cups CHOCOLATE CHIPS

Instructions

Step 1:

  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees now. This ensures the oven is hot. Line your pans with parchment paper.

Step 2:

  • Whisk the flour and baking soda together. Add the salt to the dry mix. Use a medium bowl for this.

Step 3:

  • Place the butter and sugars together. Use a large bowl for this. Beat them until they are fluffy.

Step 4:

  • Add the eggs to the butter mix. Pour in the vanilla extract too. Mix them on a low speed.

Step 5:

  • Slowly add the flour to the bowl. Do not mix it too fast. Mix until the flour just disappears.

Step 6:

  • Fold in the chocolate chips now. Use a large spoon or spatula. Make sure they are spread out.

Step 7:

  • Drop big spoons of dough on pans. Space them two inches apart now. This prevents them from touching.

Step 8:

  • Bake for twelve to fifteen minutes. The edges should look golden brown. Remove them from the oven carefully.

Notes

Chill the dough for one hour first. This prevents the cookies from spreading.
Use room temperature butter for mixing. This makes the texture very smooth.
Do not overmix the cookie dough. This keeps the cookies very soft.
Measure your flour with a spoon. Level the top with a knife.
Add a little sea salt on top. It makes the chocolate taste better.
Use a small scoop for even sizes. This helps them bake the same.
Rotate your pans halfway through baking. This helps them brown very evenly.
Watch the oven very closely at the end. Cookies can burn very quickly.
