Ingredients

  • 1 can of refried beans for the bottom base.
  • 2 ripe avocados mashed into a smooth paste.
  • 1 cup of sour cream for the white layer.
  • 1 cup of chunky red salsa drained well.
  • 1 1/2 cups of shredded cheddar cheese.
  • 1/2 cup of sliced black olives for a salty bite.
  • 2 large tomatoes seeded and diced small today.
  • 1/4 cup of chopped green onions for a garnish.
  • 1 tablespoon of fresh lime juice for the green.
  • 1/2 teaspoon of chili powder for a tiny kick.

Instructions

Prepare the Bean Base

  • Spread the refried beans into the bottom of your glass dish. Use a spatula to make the layer very flat.

Mash the Green Fruit

  • In a small bowl, mix the avocados with the lime juice. Spread this green layer directly over the beans.

Spice the Sour Cream

  • Whisk the sour cream with the chili powder in a bowl. Spread the white cream over the green fruit now.

Drain the Red Salsa

  • Pour the salsa into a strainer to remove extra liquid. Place the red chunks over the white cream today.

Sprinkle the Yellow Cheese

  • Cover the red salsa with a thick layer of shredded cheddar. Make sure the cheese reaches the very edges.

Add the Salty Olives

  • Place the black olive slices over the top of the cheese. This adds a very dark and pretty color contrast.

Layer the Fresh Tomatoes

  • Add the diced red tomatoes on top of the olives. This makes the dip look very fresh and healthy today.

Garnish with Green Onions

  • Sprinkle the sliced onions over the very top of the dish. Serve the dip with a bag of salty corn chips.

Notes

  • Drain the salsa well so the dip is not watery.
  • Use a glass dish so your guests see the pretty colors today.
  • Add a layer of pickled jalapenos if you love more heat.
  • Mash the avocados right before you build the dish.
  • Let the dip chill for one hour for a better flavor.
  • Use a full-fat sour cream for a much richer taste.
  • Season every layer with a tiny pinch of salt today.
