Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 12 oz fettuccine pasta
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup sun-dried tomatoes chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil chopped
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes

Instructions
 

  • Boil water in large pot for pasta.
  • Cook fettuccine according to package directions exactly.
  • Drain pasta and set aside immediately.
  • Heat olive oil in large skillet.
  • Add shrimp to hot oil carefully.
  • Cook shrimp 2-3 minutes per side.
  • Remove shrimp and set aside temporarily.
  • Add butter to same skillet.
  • Sauté garlic for 30 seconds only.
  • Add sun-dried tomatoes and cook briefly.
  • Pour heavy cream into skillet slowly.
  • Add Parmesan cheese and stir constantly.
  • Season with salt, pepper, and pepper flakes.
  • Return shrimp to creamy sauce.
  • Add cooked pasta and toss gently.
  • Garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

  1. Use fresh shrimp for best flavor results
  2. Don't overcook shrimp to avoid rubber texture
  3. Reserve pasta water to thin sauce if needed
  4. Add cream gradually to prevent sauce curdling
  5. Serve immediately while pasta is hot and creamy
