Ingredients
  

  • 1 3/4 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 cup Pitted dates (chopped)
  • 1/4 cup Unsalted butter (softened)
  • 3/4 cup  Sugar (granulated)
  • 1 1/4 cups Boiling water
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 tsp Baking soda
  • 1 tsp Baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt

For Making The Toffee Sauce:

  • 1 cup Dark brown sugar
  • 1 cup  Heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup  Unsalted butter
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the oven to 350°F, grease a baking dish.
  • Combine dates and baking soda. Pour boiling water, and wait 15 minutes.
  • Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add eggs one at a time.
  • Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
  • Add dry ingredients to the butter-sugar mixture, alternating with date mix.
  • Pour batter into the dish, and bake for 30-40 minutes until the toothpick is clean.
  • Prepare toffee sauce: combine cream, butter, sugar, and vanilla. Cook until thick.
  • Poke holes in the baked pudding, and pour half of the toffee sauce.
  • Serve warm, drizzle with more toffee sauce. Enjoy your dessert!
